IOVA's Values & Principles
Adopted by the Board of Directors, February 10, 2006
Our Values:

Our values are integrity, compassion, and justice.

Our Guiding Principles:
  1. Victims' rights are universal human rights; survivors need and deserve access to safety, support and justice.
  2. Victims of crime and catastrophes should have consistent rights and services guaranteed by law, policy and practice.
  3. All people have a right to prevention of victimization.
  4. Those individuals and entities who violate victims’ rights should be held accountable for their actions.
  5. International partnerships are needed to ensure that all victims of crime and catastrophe are adequately served.
  6. Services to victims and survivors should be victim-centered and trauma-informed.
